History of Viswakarma Welfare Association:
It was a few Malayali Viswakarma who were residing in Bangaloreand came from different parts of Kerala for their survival, intending to unite & develop its welfare activities to its community members. A few elders met at Lalbagh Botanical Garden sitting on the stone bench on 01.02.1981 had decided & took the first bold step in forming an Association by naming it “KERALA VISWAKARMA WELFARE ASSOCIATION”. The following are the members who took the lead role & responsibility:
1981 to 1984

Shri. N. K. Gopalan |

Shri. V. R. Bharathan |

1984 to 1987

Shri. V. K. Appukuttan Achary |

In the initial stage, there were not many activities seen but later the new Management in 1984-87 initiated with Welfare Scheme of the FAMILY WELFARE FUND & HOUSING SCHEME.
